#showtooltip
/castsequence [button:1] reset=6/combat Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Frost Strike, Blood Strike, Blood Strike, Howling Blast, Frost Strike, Obliterate, Frost Strike, Howling Blast, Obliterate, Frost Strike
/cast !Rune Strike

This macro applies Icy Touch, then Plague Strike, burns Runic Power, Blood Strikes twice, followed by Howling Blast, burns Runic Power again, Obliterates, burns Runic Power, Howling Blasts, Obliterates, and finally burns remaining Runic Power. This infinitely repeating cycle minimizes downtime between abilities to maximize DPS.
It also uses Rune Strike when it can.

This macro will only work if:
You have 2 points in Chill of The Grave
Glyph of Icy Touch
Glyph of Frost Strike

For maximum DPS potential:
2 points in Epidemic (taking these points allows both Frost Fever and Blood Plague to be up the entire duration, maximizing DPS).

This macro can easily be changed to an AoE DPS macro by changing the first Blood Strike to Pestilence.

Valid: Wotlk 3.1

  1. something says:

Why do you have !runestrike, what exactly does the ! infront do, and wont this stuff the macro up or will it reset if you do a runestrike?

  2. anon says:

    !runestrike
keeps the runestrike from toggling on and off if you’re spamming the button

  3. Dairy Knight says:

i was wondering if there was a way to add horn of winter into this macro so that i don’t run out of runic power as fast?

  4. Nerzhu says:

Thx for macro i pull 4k dps :)

  5. evenstarr says:

i tried using this macro but i dont seem to be gaining enough runic power for the first froststrike

  6. Evenstarr says:

just wondering if anyone can tell me why have the glyphs and the 2 in chill of the grave

  7. jakobbsskii says:

You may not get enough runic power for first Frost Strike so i just took away first frost strike so It is like that in my macro and that works very well:D

    #showtooltip
/castsequence [button:1] reset=6/combat Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Blood Strike, Blood Strike, Howling Blast, Frost Strike, Obliterate, Frost Strike, Howling Blast, Obliterate, Frost Strike
    /cast !Rune Strike

Just took away first Frost Strike

  8. Frosted Flakes says:

Bad idea to use a fixed rotation for DK dps. Procs, RND, and cds reward the DK that picks the best power at the right time.

Sure this cast sequence will give you dps. But you’ll be doing less than your maximum potential by using a fixed rotation.

  9. Zach G. says:

Another useful spell to put in there is empower rune weapon (assuming it’s not on cd) because it will automatically grant 25 runic power, making sure you get to use that first frost strike, and with a little runic power left over, you should have enough runic power by the time you get to the next frost strike. Also, learning the butchery talent may also be a good idea as well.

  10. Zach G. says:

Actually, maybe stick it at the end of the rotation

  11. Zach G. says:

A talent not recommended for this setup is blood of the north, as it messes up the rune system that this macro is setup for (the blood runes become death runes, causing problems)

  12. Luffaren says:

    i use this

    #showtooltip
/castsequence [button:1] reset=6/combat Chains of Ice, Plague Strike, Frost Strike, Blood Strike, Blood Strike, Howling Blast, Frost Strike, Obliterate, Frost Strike, Howling Blast, Obliterate, Frost Strike
    /cast !Rune Strike

replaced the first Icy Touch with Chains of Ice for pvp

  13. devon says:

In my oppinion the macro is great. @Frosted flakes. Just so you know this macro uses obliterate and frost strike enough that it uses the proc every time so u don’t loose any dps because of that. I also belive that if you replace icy touch at the beggining with howling blast and have the glyph for howling blast you will maximize the use of this macro

  14. devon says:

Also an excelent macro is this

    #showtooltip Death strike
    \cast death strike
    \cast Raise Goul
    \cast Death Pact

    Or if u r blood

    #showtooltip Death Strike
    \cast Vampiric Blood
    \cast Death Strike
    \cast Blood Tap
    \cast Raise Goul
    \cast Death Pact

  15. devon says:

@Zach G. Uuhhh dude you need that talent because the whole point is that you need the death runes so you can cast Obliterate as often as possible!!

  16. ArabWarLord says:

stick to what frosted flakes said.. dps’n in frost id very situational..u need to have full control

  17. ArabWarLord says:

@DEVON…The blood macro is actually an excelent macro for tanking when u rlly need that boost but fingers arent quick enuf..no homo lol
